________________________________________________________________ all through history religious zealots have used the bible to dehumanize and subjugate others it has been used in the days of the African transatlantic slave trade to justify the trade,  it was used in the confederate states to justify segregation,  it has been used to promote hatred of other religions especially the Jews,  it has been used to treat women as property of the man.  It is still used today to treat women as second class citizen and to deny to women the choice over their bodies.  It has been used to demonize homosexuality,  it is currently being used to demonize transsexuals.
