Why I do, What I do

Why I do, what I do

Some people may think I am balmy. I might actually be delusional. The bible has been a deeply daily integral part of my life since I was mid-teenager. I belong with the man of Calvary.

And yet on Belfast Pride Parade day I appear on the parades commission portal as [Private Individual] under the label ‘Parade Related Protest’

I protest, not against the parade, but against a group of different protestors, who are protesting about the parade. They call themselves, United Christian Witness.

People may wonder why a 70plus disabled granddad with a rollator would go to the bother of counter protest at all. I have been offered assistance at my protest from within my denomination but I feel one person is enough. John the baptist was alone.

I am not going to say anything about these United Christian Witness that they would not agree with.

So shamefully wicked and vile are the sins of these United Christian Witness, that only the Sacrifice by God of his Son, Jesus the Christ, bled-out and died, on a cross could pay the price for these shamefully wicked and vile acts.

Now, having been responsible for the death of Jesus, imagine the obnoxious gall of these people to stand there on Pride Parade day and point their fingers at others.

Sinners protesting whom the see as Sinners, about what they view as Sin

You couldn’t make it up.

The only similar protest that I can find in my bible was made by Pharisees. The Pharisees were protesting against the Christ and his Christians. And they did so in a cornfield.

These united Christian Witness in my view are emulating the Pharisees. There is nothing Christian in their protest

My denomination is Non Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland but I personally refer to is as the non-homophobic Presbyterians

  1. Well said and done, Ulster Conscience, proud of you, my friend. What you say makes sense, it rises out of love, agape love for all.
